Omero, the skipper

Passionate about sailing for over 30 years

Omero is one of the most renowned italian sailors. The story of his life is fascinating. He was born in the (roaring) ’50s, and has owned an engineering and metalworker workshop for years. Sailing has always been his passion, and when he grew tired of his daily work routine he decided to turn it into a real project. He started chartering during weekends and the summer months, until he made the leap and started sailing professionally at the age of 35.

After sailing in Sardinia, Corsica, along the italian coast and Greece, in 1992 he decided to sail across the Atlantic ocean to explore the Caribbean. Since then, he has crossed the Atlantic ocean more than 30 times. He has trained many young sailors who now work professionaly around the world, and helped many people realize their dream of sailing in the ocean. He sees his guests and crews as a sort of big family: he is not only passionate about sailing, but also about people and sharing stories.

Omero’s sailing experience guarantees safety, comfort, and absolute relax for his guests. He is a great chef too, and he will cook for you on board.

Sara, deckhand, hostess and blogger

From NYC to the ocean

Sara fell in love with the ocean and with everything-sailing a few years ago: she has worked as a consultant for operations in Italy and, after a specialization at Columbia University, at the NYC Mayor’s Office for Operations. She had been looking for a change and a breakthrough from long office hours and the crazy life of Manhattan, and when she started sailing she decided to change her life.

She sailed in the Mediterranean for a while, joined a crew for the Atlantic passage and met Omero in the Caribbean Sea. They have been sailing and working together ever since. Sara adds a womanly touch to the on board experience and makes life easier for everybody. She keeps the kitchen and the common areas clean, she takes care of the guests’ needs and helps Omero with the maneuvres.

She also takes care of the social media: she writes the blog from the boat (only in italian for the moment, sorry!), describing the long passages and the weekly charters in some of the most beautiful islands of the world, updates the Instagram and Facebook accounts, and makes videos for the Youtube channel.
